How To Play
Seven Card Stud
Seven Card Stud is one of the
most popular stud poker games. When playing
Seven Card Stud you will receive seven cards
dealt to you over five rounds. You then use five
of the seven cards to make your best five card
poker.
Seven Card Stud Rules Seven
Card Stud starts out with each player at the
table posting a small ante before any of the
cards are dealt. Once the antes have been posted
each player will then be dealt two cards face
down and a third card will be dealt face up.
The player who has the highest
face up card is required to place a forced bet.
The forced bet is called the 'The Bring In' and
is used similar to the blinds in Omaha and
Holdem which is to help force the action.
The action continues around
the table going clockwise. Each player has the
option of either calling, raising to the lower
limit (completing the bring in bet) or folding.
There is usually a limit of three raises in any
betting round in Seven Card Stud.
When the first betting round
is over each player that has not folded their
hand is dealt a card face up. This is followed
by a round of betting beginning with the player
who has the best hand showing.
When the second round of
betting is over each player that has not folded
their hand is dealt another face up card. Again,
this is followed by a round of betting. The
betting is started by the player whose up cards
are the best hand. At this point a total of five
cards have been dealt.
When the third round of
betting is over each player that has not folded
their hand is dealt another face up card. This
is followed by another round of betting. The
player with the best hand showing begins the
betting round. You now have a total of six cards
in your hand. You have four cards face up and
two cards face down.
The seventh and final card
will be dealt face down. This is followed by the
final round of betting starting with the player
who has the best hand showing.
When the final round of
betting has been completed, all remaining
players show their cards. The winner of the pot
is the player with the best five card poker
hand.
As you can see, Seven Card
Stud is an easy game to learn and play. With so
many rounds of betting you can end up seeing
some pretty big pots.
